Nature Talks Series

Nature Talks is a video series where (well, you've guessed it right) nature talks. Designed to support the wellness of Middle Eastern refugees and immigrants in the U.S, this video series observes nature and brings in familiar cultural stories and spiritual elements to help our audience rethink change, build resilience, and draw strength from a deep and rooted connection to the natural world.

This series is part of an Outdoor Equity Program operated by REDA, Inc, (a Sacramento Refugee non-profit in Sacramento, CA) and funded by the CA State Department of Parks and Recreation. The series is also supported by the Commission for Behavioral Health (CBH).

Wellness True Stories

In the heart of California, powerful stories of struggle and healing are being shared. "Wellness True Stories" is a video series that brings to light the real-life experiences of members of the Arabic-speaking immigrant community.  Each episode features a personal journey through life's most difficult challenges and is a testament to human resilience and hope to anyone who has faced adversity. Past Programs

In addition to our video series, Sokoon organizes and facilitates therapeutic ocean retreats for Middle Eastern refugees and immigrants. Check the video below for an example of one of our 3-days Ocean retreat organized for the REDA clients in the middle of the redwoods and by the ocean. Campers enjoyed sessions of guided meditation, connected with the ocean and the sky, experienced forest bathing, hiked, ran volleyball tournaments and built meaningful connections with one another.
